THE iconic Bunnings sausage sizzle will return to the Gold Coast from Saturday as the retail hardware store plans to carefully phase the event’s return.
To resume the community fundraising favourite, Bunnings has selected certain locations to return the sausage sizzle at and the Burleigh Waters store has been included.

At the start of July Bunnings announced the sausage sizzle is set to return to all states and territories by the end of the month and selected Queensland stores will roll out the barbecue from this weekend.
People from across the Coast have been waiting for the return of the Bunnings barbecue – especially tradies – and for at least the next four weekends the Burleigh Waters store will use the business’s new safety measures.

A Gold Coast Bunnings store has confirmed it’ll be lighting up the barbecue from this Saturday with the popular sausage sizzle returning.
After months of the sausage sizzles at Bunnings stores being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Burleigh Waters Bunnings will be turning the gas on once again.
From this weekend the charity cook-up will return to the Burleigh Waters store on Saturdays and Sundays.

At the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in March, the iconic retailer was forced to park the barbecue, but the sausage sizzle has returned to the Northern Territory and Tasmania for the last two weekends, and will return to Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia this weekend at selected stores.

“Earlier this month we were excited to bring sausage sizzles back to Tasmania and the Northern Territory and community groups did a fantastic job adapting to the new physically-distanced layout and hygiene measures designed to keep everyone safe,” Bunnings chief operating officer Deb Poole said.
“While our community groups are taking a number of extra precautions, what hasn’t changed is the great feeling of supporting a local community group and the unmistakeable taste of an Aussie sausage, bread and sauce.”
