A MAN and a woman have charged after allegedly being found with a gun, ammunition and drugs when attempting to cross the border.
It’s alleged police stopped a car at the Tugun checkpoint crossing about 8.45pm on Wednesday.
Cannabis and amphetamine, as well as a modified pump action shotgun and ammunition in a bag in the boot were allegedly found in the boot when police inspected the vehicle.
A 24-year-old Waterford man has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon, offence in relation to unauthorised and prohibited explosives, bringing stolen goods into Queensland, forgery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 23-year-old Lismore woman has been charged with two counts of possessing a dangerous drug - amphetamine and cannabis.

The man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 19.
The woman is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 21.
Investigations are ongoing.
