A DANGEROUS driver is on the run after leaving his female passenger at a petrol station while refuelling, during a lengthy police chase in Melbourne’s south east.
Police saw the Ford wagon, which was displaying false numberplates, speeding along Breens Road in Cranbourne just after midnight.

A short time later, the driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, tried to refuel their car at a petrol station in McClelland Drive, Frankston.
When police turned up the driver sped off, leaving the young girl behind.
She tried to flee but was arrested shortly after.
The pursuit of the vehicle was terminated for safety reasons and was later found dumped in Elwood.
The driver remains on the run.
