POLICE are searching for a gang who vicious assaulted a young man in Mooroolbark after he drove home two women he met at a music festival.
The 26-year-old Mulgrave man was set upon by a gang of men on Sunday night after driving home from a musical festival in St Kilda.
He was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.
It is believed the victim and a friend had offered to give two girls a lift to their home in Mooroolbark after meeting at the festival.

Police allege the victim was beaten unconscious by four or five men as he stepped out of his car in Sheridan Ave about 10.30pm.
The victim’s friend rushed to his aid as the offenders fled in a silver Toyota Hilux ute.
The victim was taken to hospital with a broken cheek and nose and will require surgery.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses but anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
