A TEENAGE boy has been tasered to the head by a group of youths at a 16th birthday party in Bundoora.

The boy, 16, was with a friend when he was attacked by a group of four to five people as he left the house party on Noorong Ave just after midnight.

The attack broke out when one of the offenders asked to use the victim’s mobile phone.

As the boy, 16, pulled it from his pocket, he was tasered.

Joe, the victim’s relative, said he could hear the taser go off.

“I didn’t see it but I could hear it going off as we tried to go around the young kids,” he told 3AW.

“I’ve heard a taser before. I can tell you 110% it was the taser.”

“They (the offenders) weren’t saying they had a taser, but they were going to f**** use it.”

Joe called the police on the night because he didn’t want to see his family injured for no reason.

He said the youths had no regard for the law.

“They taunt police, they are just trying to do their job and it’s just ridiculous,” he said.

Detective Snr Const Jason Antonelli said the victim had bruising to his scalp.

“When he (the victim) was kicked, it’s believed he was tasered to the head,” he said.

“He’s quite scared and worried there will be some ramifications.”

Police said the groups were not known to each other.

There was also no CCTV of the incident.

The teens dropped the boy’s stolen mobile phone as they fled the scene, police say.

The victim, from Eaglehawk, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The main offender was described as about 165-170cm tall with long hair in a ponytail and tanned skin.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
