Four accused killers lay in wait for 40 minutes before they chased down their victim for 300m and shot him, court documents claim.

Maytham Hamad, 24, from Mill Park; Ali Al Khafaji, 22, from Lalor; Ahmed Al Hamza, 21, from West Melbourne; and Ali Kadik, 22, from Roxburgh Park, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court today charged over the murder of Anwar Teriaki on August 9, 2017.

Anwar Teriaki, 21, was found dead after the late night shooting.

When Mr Teriaki, 21, pulled his car up at the property at 12.26am, the men allegedly drove up closer and confronted him.

He ran for his life down the street with two of the accused giving chase on foot, while the others followed closely behind in the car.

“The deceased ran approximately 300m where he stopped in the front yard of (another property) at which time he was fatally shot,” the summary read.

The accused then fled the scene in the stolen car.

The court heard police had been building their case against each accused since the murder, with DNA, 200 hours of phone intercepts and five hours of surveillance and listening devices among the evidence.

Mr Al Hamza and Mr Kadik appeared in the dock together first, followed by Mr Hamed and Mr Al Khafaji. Their brief court appearances come after police swooped on their properties and arrested them each this morning.

They did not say anything throughout the hearings. Hours earlier at the City West Police Complex, they each also gave no comment interviews to detectives.

They were remanded to appear via video link on May 7.
