A MAN accused of raping women he met on Tinder will remain behind bars after an attempt at bail was denied, with the alleged creep described by a police prosecutor as an “unemployed dead beat who cared for no-one but himself”.

A MAN accused of raping women he met on Tinder will remain behind bars after a failed attempt at bail.
Glenn Antony Dylan Hartland, 43, of Moonee Ponds, is accused of committing five rapes on women over a two-year period.

He faces more than a dozen charges, including assaults, unlawful imprisonment and distributing intimate images of his victims.
The Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard the alleged creep faces a rough time in jail, where he has already been bashed and is kept in protective custody.
He was jailed just before Christmas after he approached one of his alleged victims, despite she being a witness in his upcoming rape trial.
Mr Hartland, who allegedly met all of his victims through the online dating app Tinder, not only contacted the woman, but kept her under surveillance.
Police slapped him with four additional charges and locked him up.
They allege Mr Hartland harassed the woman last month, yelling at her: “There’s no point hiding, you liar”.
At his appearance in court last July, Mr Hartland could be heard complaining that the media coverage would impact on his sponsorship deals.
On social media, Mr Hartland claims to be a fitness fanatic, who participates in triathlons.
One of his alleged victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said each of the victims met her attacker through Tinder.
“He’s a shape shifter,” she said.
“One minute he’s a lawyer, the next he’s a pro snowboarder.”
His arrest was among the first to come from Victoria Police’s Family Violence Taskforce.
Police prosecutor Sen-Constable Tom Roberts said Mr Hartland, who claims to suffer from a borderline personality disorder, had complete disregard for not only his alleged victims, but court orders.
He described Mr Hartland as an unemployed dead beat who cared for no-one but himself.
“No one relies on him ... no one needs him,” he said.
Mr Hartland will face a preliminary hearing over the rape allegations next week.
