A Norlane man chased a former colleague to a rail station and kicked him in the head after he had eggs thrown at his house, a court has heard.

Jordan Anderson, 23, pleaded guilty in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Friday to intentionally causing injury and criminal damage.

The court heard Anderson kicked the victim on the ground causing a swollen eye and cuts to the face and sending him to hospital.

Tensions between Anderson and the victim had been brewing for some time.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Stephanie Drake said the victim had approached Anderson’s home and threw eggs at his property in the afternoon of April 24.

Anderson walked out his house and tried to punch the victim, but failed.

Constable Drake said Anderson chased the victim to the North Shore railway station.

The victim then approached a bus and asked to be let on, however, the bus driver refused as he could see Anderson approaching.

Anderson then grappled and punched the victim, pushed him to the ground and began kicking him to the body and the head.

Constable Drake said the victim received facial injuries and was taken to hospital where he was released the following day.

Prior to the assault, Anderson had gone to the victim’s apartment in Mercer St Geelong in the early hours of March 25.

The court heard Anderson had sent several messages to the victim, which said “ I’m going to get you worse than you have ever been to, see you soon”.

Anderson approached the victim’s apartment, picked up a dumbbell and hit a large glass sliding door causing it to shatter.

“The accused then gained entry to the foyer and threw the dumbbell at another glass sliding door causing it to shatter,” Constable Drake said.

The court heard Anderson then left the scene and had caused about $6000 worth of damage.

When he was interviewed by police he described the assault as “like a stomp”.

Anderson’s lawyer told the court his client had an issue with the victim after they met through work and that tensions boiled over.

He said the victim had previously sent “nasty” messages to Anderson and some of his friends.

Magistrate Peter Mellas adjourned sentencing until November 30.
