Victoria’s anti-corruption watchdog has charged four people over a 2017 investigation into V/Line and TAFEs in regional Victoria.

Operation Lansdowne probed allegations of serious corruption which included scam training schemes, improper awarding of qualifications and dodgy processes around V/Line contracts.

The Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission has charged four people involved in vocational education and training, including one person who worked in the public sector.

Four people have been charged nearly three years after the IBAC investigation made its report.

Alleged offences include conspiracy to defraud, misconduct in public office, dealing with proceeds of crime and obtaining financial advantage by deception.

They have been summoned to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates Court on October 19.

The charges are not related to an ongoing IBAC probe into the Department of Transport which is running as a separate investigation.

In August, V/Line chief executive James Pinder and Peter Bollas, a manager at Metro Trains, were suspended after they were questioned by IBAC.
