A fatal house fire has claimed a person’s life at a residence in Victoria’s north.
Emergency services responded to reports of a blaze at the Lilac Ave home in Kerang just after midnight on Friday.
“Sadly, a body was found inside the property once the fire was extinguished,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
She said arson and explosives squad detectives and an arson chemist would attend the property on Saturday morning to investigate the cause of the blaze.
