Drivers urged to come forward over fatal crash

Detectives have provided a key update about their investigation into a Bell Post Hill crash that claimed the life of a grandmother.

Detectives have released images of four cars that were travelling in Bell Post Hill moments before a grandmother hit a couch along Creamery Rd.

Vicki McKenzie, 73, died in hospital after sustaining critical injuries the crash.

Police believe her blue Kia Rio struck a couch that had been left on the road about 7.50pm on September 10.

The force of the crash caused the car to collide with a Hyundai i40 travelling in the opposite direction.

Police have not yet revealed if they know why the couch was left on the road, if they have any suspects or if any arrests have been made.

Police have released imaged of four cars that they believe were in the area when a crash occurred.

Ms McKenzie’s son Brad McKenzie has repeatedly called for answers and said he may never reconcile the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death.

“We hope someone has a conscience, someone feels guilt, someone knows something and speaks up,” he said.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said on Wednesday detectives had released CCTV images of four vehicles that were travelling along Creamery Rd at the time of the collision.

She said detectives were appealing for the drivers to come forward.

The first car pictured is believed to be a Holden Commodore Utility or similar, the second car is a white hatch back, the third a dark coloured SUV and the fourth a ute with fixed toolbox attached to the tray.
