CHRIS Hemsworth is the latest high profile name to fall in love with St Kilda vegan cafe Matcha Mylkbar.
The small cafe, which has menu items that include mushroom, beetroot and apple pie lattes, has developed a huge following since opening early last year.
Hemsworth made his comments about the cafe to the New York Times, which ran a profile of the Thor star on what he loves about Australia.
“The restaurant serves only plant-based food and has one of the most inventive menus I have ever seen,” he said.
“I am not a vegan, but if I were, this is where I would go to eat.”
Other stars who have thrown their support behind the Matcha Mylkbar include Liam Hemsworth, Delta Goodrem, The Veronicas, Sullivan Stapleton and Josh Gibson.
Hemsworth was very complimentary about Melbourne, giving the city a great wrap.
“I distinctly remember the city’s strong multicultural scene that I experienced as a kid, and that has only grown today,” he said.
“There’s such a diverse mixture of communities including Greek, Lebanese and Vietnamese, which means that the ethnic food is fantastic.”
Hemsworth is the face of Tourism Australia in the United States.
