From working with world-class songwriters to opening for some of the biggest acts in the country, Far North musicians have proven they have what it takes to entertain the masses at the highest levels.
We were inundated with nominations in our quest to crown the best musician across Far North Queensland.
Almost 100 artists have been nominated including singers, instrumentalists, rappers, DJs and even a few bands.
Rising indie-pop singer Amber Farnan will take the stage with Aussie music legend Missy Higgins on May 11 as the opening act for Higgins’ The Second Act Tour 2024.
Growing up in Cooktown, Ms Farnan felt isolated from the music scene, which drove her determination to pursue music.
Farnan’s songwriting is inspired by the planet and calamitous and unparalleled life experiences she has encountered in her 20 years.
Cairns songstress Leanne Tennant, otherwise known as LT, recently won a Queensland Music Award on April 17 for her song Act Your Age, co-written with Joel Quatermain of Eskimo Joe fame and Edwin White from Aussie band Vance Joy.
“This moment was one of the most important in my songwriting career as those that have followed Act your Age understand this song is written about ageism in the industry,” she said at the time.
Vote now for who you want to be crowed the region’s best musical artist.
