An early flurry of goals gave Drysdale an unassailable lead against Queenscliff in the BFNL at Saturday.
The Hawks scored 14 goals to the Coutas’ eight in the opening term, before leveraging the lead for the rest of the game and running out 50-37 victors at home.
Queenscliff was unable to contain the Hawks’ combination in goals, with Alyce Delaney (25 goals) and Maddison Connally (18 goals) dominating in the contest.
Versatile Hawk Kaia Giles also had her opportunities under the ring, scoring seven goals off the bench.
For Queenscliff, Kaitlin Gladman scored 32 goals in a dominant showing in goal shooter, but it was not enough to overcome the Hawks’ firepower.
Drysdale extends its advantage over Modewarre to 10 points and has solidified its position on the BFNL ladder with the win.
The Hawks remain 12 points off third spot, but the 10-point buffer to fifth means it is likely Drysdale will finish fourth.
Barwon Heads v Anglesea
The Seagulls claimed an important win against Anglesea to edge closer to a top five spot.
Goal shooter Alex Antonio scored 22 goals for Barwon Heads, who held on to win 43-41 after holding a comfortable nine-goal lead at the final break.
Modewarre v Geelong Amateur
Geelong Amateur continued its strong season with a big win against Modewarre.
Goal shooter Ruby Watson scored 48 goals for the Ammos, who remain on top of the ladder after the 59-38 victory.
Abbey Middleton scored 19 goals for Modewarre, while Amy Dodds had 16.
Newcomb v Ocean Grove
Ocean Grove piled on the biggest score of the season when the Grubbers won 94-32 against Newcomb.
Goal shooter Rebecca O’Neill scored a season-high 71 goals for the Grubbers, while Laney McFayden had 12 for Newcomb.
Torquay v Portarlington
A 17-8 third quarter set up a strong win for Torquay in its clash with Portarlington.
The Tigers led by 13 at the main break, but eventually ran out comfortable winners against the Demons, winning 55-29 at home.
Julia Allan-Goodwin scored 29 goals for Torquay in the win.
