GFNL netball results: St Albans beat Lara, St Mary’s draw with Leopold
There were two draws in the GFNL in Saturday’s fixtures, while St Albans continued its strong run against Lara.

St Albans was able to overturn a poor start to run out strong winners in trying conditions against Lara.
Despite battling to make consistent passes in the first half, the Supersaints were able to pile on 26 goals to 15 in the second half to run out 55-38 victors against the Cats.
St Albans coach Josh Smith said half time adjustments allowed his squad to gain ascendancy.
“They were trying conditions out there, it was certainly cold and windy,” he said.
“When we put Taliah Mullane on at half time we had a different option to go to, which changed our looks getting the ball into Tharjini (Sivalingam).
Sivalingam scored 54 of St Albans’ 55 goals, with her obvious height advantage playing a key role in her success under the ring.
The win has solidified the Supersaints’ finals hopes as they locked in a top three spot for another week.
Bell Park v Geelong West
The Dragons and Giants could not be separated after four quarters, with the scores locked at 41-41 at the end of the match.
Makaela Connelly slotted 31 goals for Bell Park, while Aleisha McDonald had 25 for the Giants in the draw.
The draw leaves Geelong West just outside the top five, while Bell Park remains four points below the Giants on the table.
Grovedale v Colac
Colac piled on 63 goals against Grovedale in a win that emphasised the side’s finals ambitions.
Goal shooter Michelle Winch scored 36 goals for the Tigers, helping Colac secure the 63-17 win away from home.
St Mary’s v Leopold
The Saints and the Lions had the second draw of the round, with scores tied at 37 apiece at the end of their clash.
Leopold could not hold onto its two-goal advantage at the final break, with Isabelle Grapsas scoring 22 goals for the Saints, while Lion Charlotte Murray had 18.
