Despite the horse races being cancelled due to a heavy track, spirits were not dampened as racegoers still partied at the Traralgon Cup. SEE THE PICTURES.

Crowds sprung into action at the bet365 Traralgon Cup Day on the weekend, despite the races getting cancelled due to a heavy track.

The popular event, hosted at the Traralgon Racecourse, welcomed racegoers through the gates from 11am on Sunday for a phantom race meet.

Attendees were in for a treat, including a day filled with horse racing action, punting, food and drinks.

Guests also had the chance to win prizes by entering the Flowers by Bell fashions on the field competition trackside.

The fashion categories included best dressed lady, best dressed man, best dressed junior U13 and best millinery.

Then as the day went on, an exciting announcement revealed that patrons were going to compete in their very own sprint race on the track, and racegoer Ryan McLeod placed first.
