Pip Edwards has seemingly confirmed her new relationship with controversial businessman Geoff Bainbridge.
The 44-year-old was photographed with the high profile entrepreneur and multimillionare, 52, out in New York on Sunday night, after announcing she’d joined Australian denim label Ksubi as its creative director, having stepped down from the same role at her activewear brand, P.E. Nation.
Bainbridge, one of the early investors in burger chain Grill’d, made headlines in early 2022 when The Australian obtained videos of him smoking methamphetamine.
Publication of the minutes-long footage prompted the father-of-four to abruptly quit as chief executive of ASX-listed, Hobart-based Lark Distilling.
He then issued a statement and gave an interview to The Age, alleging he had been the victim of a sophisticated, years-long extortion racket over the video, which he claimed dated back to 2015 from a trip to South-East Asia.
“Ultimately, I put myself in a situation I shouldn’t have been in,” he said at the time.
“I’m a victim of extortion but that wouldn’t have occurred without my poor judgement. I am deeply remorseful for my own actions.”
An unnamed source confirmed to the Daily Mail the Melbourne-based businessman and Edwards are “dating”, weeks after he was spotted leaving the designer’s Rose Bay home.
The pair are yet to comment on their relationship.
Edwards’ most recent public relationship was with Michael Clarke, who she dated between mid-2020 and late-2021.
She was then unexpectedly dragged into the former Australian cricket captain’s very public Noosa fracas with his then-partner, Jade Yarbrough, in January 2023.
Clarke made national headlines when the emotionally-charged carpark stoush with Yarbrough was recorded by a bystander and obtained by The Daily Telegraph.
In the footage, Yarbrough could be heard accusing him of “f**king” Edwards while they were together.
At the time, Edwards distanced herself, saying: “This is not my circus. Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to.”
She went on to tell Stellar that the “hardest thing was the distraction”, saying it drew focus “off the bigger picture of my life and what’s actually real – and that’s my business, and work, and my son”.
