Pip Edwards has answered the question we all want to know about Michael Clarke and that Noosa fracas, stating “it’s the hardest thing”.

Pip Edwards has revealed “the hardest thing” about being unexpectedly dragged into ex-boyfriend Michael Clarke’s very public Noosa fracas with his then-partner Jade Yarbrough earlier this year.

The former Australian cricket captain made national headlines in January when his emotionally-charged carpark stoush with Yarbrough was recorded by a bystander and obtained by The Daily Telegraph.

In the footage, Yarbrough could be heard accusing Clarke of “f**king” Edwards, who he dated between mid-2020 and late-2021, “on December 17”.

At the time, the P.E Nation co-founder distanced herself, saying: “This is not my circus. Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to.”

Appearing on the cover of Stellar, out today, the 40-year-old was asked whether she’d spoken to Clarke – or if he’d apologised to her – following the altercation.

“The hardest thing was the distraction … It’s just not relevant,” Edwards said.

“There are bigger things that are more concerning, that have more meaning, that should be talked about other than the circus that was.

“It took [the focus] off the bigger picture of life and what’s actually real – and that’s my business, and work, and my son.”

Clarke at the time said he was “absolutely gutted”, accepting “full responsibility for this altercation and am shattered by my actions”.

Both he and Yarbrough were fined for creating a public nuisance by Queensland Police.

In her interview with Stellar, Edwards went on to describe her son Justice, who she shares with ex-partner and Ksubi co-founder Dan Single, as her “true north”.

“He reminds me that it’s the simple things in life that actually matter, and they’re standing right in front of me,” she added.

“I’ve raised a beautiful, stunning, sensitive, gorgeous man and that’s a great achievement. It doesn’t matter that I’ve got this certain profile, or who you think I am.

“This is real. I’m a real mother going through real-life situations.”

Edwards told The Daily Telegraph in January her focus was “on the global expansion of P.E Nation”.

The activewear brand, which Edwards created in 2015 with co-founder Claire Tregoning, is set to grow its influence internationally in the coming months.

“We have just opened an office in LA and we have a big push in the UK,” she said.

Of the label, which has gone from strength-to-strength in the last eight years, Edwards said it combined her love of fitness and fashion.

“I am a time poor mum that juggles a lot and I wanted to wear something that got me from A to Z during the day, that is functional and fashionable,” she added.

“It was a solution to my lifestyle and clearly it resonated with other women.”
