Thousands of Collingwood and West Coast fans are expected to turn out to the streets of Melbourne for the AFL Grand Final Parade.
Marching bands and roving entertainers will join the cavalcade of players from both Grand Final teams as the parade across the southeast corner of Melbourne’s CBD towards the MCG.
Starting at the Old Treasury Building the parade will head to the AFL Grand Final Live Site at Yarra Park at the MCG, where the teams captains Shannon Hurn and Scott Pendlebury will be presented the Premiership Cup.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot on the barriers and to catch all the pre-parade entertainment.
Once the parade finishes footy fans can stay around to check out the many activities at the AFL Grand Final live site at Yarra Park

The AFL Grand Final parade will be on the 28th of September 2018.
BROADCAST
Fox Footy broadcast starts at 11am
START TIME
11 AM — Pre parade entertainment with MC James Sherry at the Old Treasury Building starting point.
11.15AM — Press Conference with Collingwood and West Coast captains and coaches
NOON — Parade starts
12.45 — Presentation ceremony at AFL Grand Final live site stage
1 PM — Parade finishes
ROUTE
The Parade starts outside the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street.
The Parade conintues south along Spring Street to Wellington Parade, where the cavalcade will turns left on Wellington Parade and travels east towards the MCG.
The Parade will then turn right into Gate 3 at Yarra Park.
The parade continues through Yarra Park to the AFL Grand Final Live Site, where the parade finishes.
HOW TO GET THERE
The parade is only a short walk from Flinders St Station, Parliament Station, Jolimont Station.
You can plan your trip by using the PTV website.
After the parade, fans can enjoy free entertainment at the AFL’s annual Footy Festival, outside gate 3 of the MCG.

The following roads will be closed from 7am to 1-3pm:
MacArthur Street — Closed between Spring Street & Albert Street
Spring Street — Closed between Flinders St and Bourke Street
Wellington Parade — Closed between Lansdowne Street & Spring Street
Wellington Parade — Closed between Jolimont Road & Hoddle Street
Wellington Parade — Closed between Jolimont Road & Lansdowne Street
Flinders Street — Closed between Spring Street & Exhibition Street
Flinders Lane — Closed between Spring Street & Exhibition Street
Collins Street — Closed between Spring Street & Exhibition Street
Little Collins Street — Closed between Spring Street & Exhibition Street
Clarendon Street — Closed between George Street & Wellington Parade
Wellington Parade South — Closed between Wellington Parade & Jolimont Terrace
Wellington Parade South — Local traffic only, Jolimont Terrace & Jolimont Road

Flinders Lane — Two-way traffic closed between Spring Street & Exhibition Street
Brunton Avenue — Local traffic only Between Jolimont St & Punt Road
Tram Services
Tram service changes for Grand Final Parade:
Affected trams will operate with an ‘a’ alongside their route number to reflect changes.
From 9:30am to 1:40pm:
Route 11a trams will operate between West Preston and Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza.
Route 48a trams will operate between North Balwyn and Stop 13 Simpson St.
Route 12a & 109a trams will divert via La Trobe St between St Vincent’s Plaza and Southern Cross Station.
Extra trams will operate along Collins St between Victoria Harbour Docklands and Stop 6 Town Hall.
City Circle trams will operate a shortened route between Waterfront City Docklands and Stop 6 Russell St, via Harbour Esplanade and Flinders St. Stops along La Trobe St and Spring St will not be serviced by City Circle trams.
From 10:15am to 1:40pm
Route 75a trams will divert via Swan St along Route 70 between Russell St and Riversdale Junction.
Extra trams will operate along Bridge Rd, Power St and Riversdale Rd, between Stop 13 Simpson St and Stop 39 Camberwell Depot.
*For the AFL Grand Final parade and Grand Final day the free tram zone has been extended.

Stop 9 — Wellington Parade/Lansdowne Street
Stop 10 — Wellington Parade/Jolimont Road
Stop 11 — Wellington Parade/Jolimont Station
Stop 7a — William Barak Bridge
Stop 7b — Rod Laver Arena
Stop 7c — MCG/Hisense Arena
