WHAT’S OPEN ON AFL GRAND FINAL EVE PUBLIC HOLIDAY?

SUPERMARKETS AND MARKETS OPENING HOURS

Coles: Mostly normal opening hours. Check your local store.

Woolworths: Mostly normal opening hours. Check your local store.

Aldi: Mostly normal opening hours. Check your local store.

IGA: Mostly normal opening hours. Check your local store.

Queen Victoria Market:

Fresh Produce: 6am-3pm

Specialty Shopping: 8am-3pm

South Melbourne Market: 8am-5pm

Prahran Market: 7am-5pm

Preston Market: 8am-6pm

Footscray Market: 7am-7pm

Post Offices

Australia Post has confirmed no post offices will be open and there will be no mail or parcel deliveries for Friday 28th September for Victoria.

Normal opening hours will revert on Saturday.

SHOPPING CENTRES OPENING HOURS

Melbourne Central: 10am-6pm

Melbourne Emporium: 10am-6pm

Bayside: 10am-5pm

Highpoint: 9am-9pm

Chadstone: 9am-9pm

Eastland: 10.30am-5.30pm

Northland: 10am-5pm

The Glen: 10am-5pm

Pacific Epping: 10am-6pm, with some of the various food and entertainment vendors staying open until late.

Pacific Werribee: 10am-5pm

Westfield Plenty Valley: 10am-5pm*

Westfield Geelong: 10am-5pm*

Westfield Doncaster: 10am-5pm*

Westfield Southland: 10am-5pm*

Westfield Fountain Gate: 10am-5pm*

Westfield Knox: 10am-5pm*

*Some stores and restaurants trading hours may vary.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Metro Trains: Services will run to a Saturday timetable. There won’t be any Night Network services. Check the PTV website for more information.

Yarra Trams: Services will operate to a Saturday timetable (with no morning night tram services). There will wont be Night Trams as normal on Friday Night. Route 30 will not operate. Check the PTV website for more information.

Tram service changes for Grand Final Parade:

Affected trams will operate with an ‘a’ alongside their route number to reflect changes.

From 9:30am to 1:40pm:

Route 11a trams will operate between West Preston and Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza.

Route 48a trams will operate between North Balwyn and Stop 13 Simpson St.

Route 12a & 109a trams will divert via La Trobe St between St Vincent’s Plaza and Southern Cross Station.

Extra trams will operate along Collins St between Victoria Harbour Docklands and Stop 6 Town Hall.

City Circle trams will operate a shortened route between Waterfront City Docklands and Stop 6 Russell St, via Harbour Esplanade and Flinders St. Stops along La Trobe St and Spring St will not be serviced by City Circle trams.

From 10:15am to 1:40pm

Route 75a trams will divert via Swan St along Route 70 between Russell St and Riversdale Junction.

Extra trams will operate along Bridge Rd, Power St and Riversdale Rd, between Stop 13 Simpson St and Stop 39 Camberwell Depot.

*For the AFL Grand Final parade and Grand Final day the free tram zone has been extended.

Extended Free Tram stops are to:

Stop 9 — Wellington Parade/Lansdowne Street

Stop 10 — Wellington Parade/Jolimont Road

Stop 11 — Wellington Parade/Jolimont Station

Stop 7a — William Barak Bridge

Stop 7b — Rod Laver Arena

Stop 7c — MCG/Hisense Arena

Metropolitan buses: Most services will run to a Saturday timetable, but some services may be altered or will not run. Night Buses will operate as normal on Friday night. Check the PTV website for more information.

V/Line: Train and coach services will run to a Saturday timetable with some altered services. Check the PTV website for more information.

ACMI at Fed Square: Open 10am — 5pm

Eureka Skydeck: Open 10am-10pm

Federation Square: Open 24 hours

Melbourne Museum: Open 10am — 5pm

Luna Park: Open 11am — 11pm

Melbourne Star Observation Wheel: Open 11am -10pm (Tickets sales finish at 9.15pm)

Peninsula Hot Springs: Open 7am — 10pm *Bookings essential for public holidays

Melbourne Zoo: Open 9am — 5pm

Healsville Sanctuary: Open 9am — 5pm

Werribee Open Range Zoo: Open 9am — 5pm

Royal Botanical Gardens: Open 7.30am — 5pm

Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium: Open 9:30am — 6pm (Last entry at 5pm)

Shrine of Remembrance: Open 10am-5pm

State Library of Victoria: Open 10am-6pm

Old Melbourne Gaol: Open 9.30am — 5pm

Royal Melbourne Show: Open 9.30am — 9.00pm

Melbourne Sports Museum: Open 10am — 5pm.
