DANCE Boss host Dannii Minogue has paid tribute to her mother Carol’s decision to quit ballet to look after her family.
“I found my mum’s ballet shoes the other day,” Minogue told Confidential.
“She was a ballet dancer and gave that up to become a mum of three. I’m not saying she would have done it professionally, but even as a hobby, she gave it up.
“I want to get her shoes framed in a beautiful box because dance is such a big part of who she was, and how she feels. She definitely taught me graceful hand movements.”

Indeed, Dannii’s new television show, Dance Boss, which premieres on Seven tonight, gives props to anyone who has a dance dream. The premise is simple: work colleagues take to the dancefloor and give it a shot.
“It’s not a show that’s saying: ‘You’re going on tour with Janet Jackson as her back up dancer,” Minogue said.
“It’s not X Factor, promising a contract, then you becoming a recording star. This is being on stage with your mates and having the best time ever.”
Minogue, who is also an executive producer on Dance Boss, said she enjoyed her multi-tasking roles.
“I feel confident in the choices that I’ve made; whatever happens will happen on the night. “We’re making a show that no one else is making; it’s about dance and having fun.
“My instructions were: ‘Create a good vibe in the studio, point the camera at it, and push record.’”
