‘They’ve definitely made contact’: Dannii Minogue could be headed back to Summer Bay
SHE played a rebellious teenager on Home and Away nearly three decades ago, and now Dannii Minogue says she would ‘totally’ consider a return to the soap opera that made her famous.

SHE played a tomboy teen on Home and Away early in her career ... and now Dannii Minogue may be headed back to Summer Bay.
Minogue said she is “totally” open to a return to the soap she starred in as rebel Emma Jackson from 1989-1990, revealing she is being interviewed for the show’s 30th anniversary.
“They’ve definitely made contact,” Minogue told News Corp Australia.
“If I did it, I’d want it to be short and sharp, in and out, because those schedules are huge,” she said.
“And that was fine when I was 17 and doing it but, like, my life is a bit more balanced with home life and being a mum.”
Minogue, 46, joked that she didn’t know what would have become of her rebel character as an adult.
“It would be interesting to see what they would think up for me,” she said.
“I think she went to Queensland, they all went to Queensland.”
Of course, Dannii is not the only Minogue who is returning to acting. Her pop star sister Kylie Minogue appeared in Australian movie Swinging Safari, alongside Dannii’s ex-husband Julian McMahon (Dannii previously told Stellar magazine McMahon was “fantastic”).
Minogue appeared at the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards in Melbourne last night, and is the face of L’Oréal Professionnel’s latest campaign, sporting a dramatic metallic grey ‘do.
“I like changing (my hair). Even when I was on Young Talent Time, I’d change my hairdo and it would always be quite extreme,” Minogue said.
“If it was teased, it was teased super high. If it was blonde, it was super blonde.”
Minogue said she looked back on her past hairstyles with “love and hate”.
“I think it’s because I was willing to go to the extreme of whatever era it is — ’80s, ’90s.
“You’re going to look back on it and go, oh I’m so embarrassed by it.
“And then the kids start to embrace stuff you did, like the ’90s grunge-y stuff and hair scrunchies.”
Minogue said she’d take style tips from her sister Kylie when they were growing up.
“Hair brushes were used for our hair and singing too, multipurpose,” Minogue laughed.
“Literally we’d jump around the loungeroom singing into a hairbrush, and try to get up our skills for that.”
Having performed at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras three times — equalling her sister Kylie’s record — Minogue said she hoped to attend to see Cher this year.
“I’m so excited she’s coming,” Minogue said.
“It’s the best feeling. I don’t know what time Cher is going to go on but last time I did it, I was really sick that whole week I was rehearsing.
“Trying to sing at 3am is hard ... can they do a daytime performance?”
“You go inside the room and it’s dark anyway. They could do a whole shift of people who do a daytime party.”
