Kmart launches new homewares range – including cult furniture item

Kmart’s latest homewares range has hit the shelves – featuring a luxury furniture item that’s $650 cheaper than designer versions.

Kmart Australia’s August living range has hit the shelves – with one fan favourite returning in a bigger way.

In January, Kmart released its Sundae Bouclé Chair for just $99 and it became an instant hit with customers.

The trendy furniture item was described as “cool” and “cute” by excited shopper who quickly snapped the item up.

Now, Kmart is releasing its updated version – the new Bouclé Swivel Chair priced at $349. But there’s a catch.

The item will not be available in Northern Territory and New Zealand’s South Island.

However shoppers in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand’s North Island will be able to get their hands on it.

One lucky customer has already labelled the product as great quality with no assembly required.

Another woman who was able to get her hands on it early shared a video of herself unboxing it on TikTok under the name @basictabbi.

Some were very excited on the woman's behalf.

“What a steal! These are usually $800-$1000,” one person commented.

Another said: “I got it too! I love it!”

Not everyone was a fan, with some slamming the price tag.

“Tbh too expensive for Kmart. Shouldn’t be more than $200 for Kmart brand,” one person said.

Another item that has just landed is the Marley Lounge Chair, which retails for $149.

And the rattan trend is still hot with a Rattan Look Round Wall Shelf as well as a Two-Tier Rattan Look Shelf both available for just $32.

In the kitchen, blues dominate, with a blue 4-litre iron casserole dish with matching baking trays and Anko’s four-slice toaster and matching kettle in blue standout items.

The range has also added an all-new DIY offering into the mix, designed to provide simple yet cost-effective alternatives to change the look of your home.

The DIY products give customers the opportunity to make big or small changes with wallpaper, flooring, curtains and blinds.

“We are thrilled to deliver another new and exciting range of homewares this winter with the bonus of our new DIY range,” Kmart’s divisional merchandise manager Meryn Serong said.

“As cost of living is on the rise, we remain committed to giving our incredible community great value and we are proud to continue to deliver on this with this range.

“The home has become a sanctuary to many families in recent years, and we wanted this August Living range to offer pieces that can help anyone refresh their space by adding some function or vibrancy, to create a calm and restful atmosphere they love, away from the stresses of everyday life.”

The range is intended to have two themes underpinning it – the timeless shopper who is drawn to softer colours and natural fibres, and the more contemporary urban look with bold silhouettes.
