After a gruelling pregnancy, reality star Simone Ormesher turned to exercise to help clear her head — and the results are amazing.

After a difficult pregnancy and birth, Bachelor star Simone Ormesher couldn’t wait to get back into the gym.

The 27-year-old, who welcomed daughter Gracie-Mae on October 2, had been left unable to exercise during her pregnancy after struggling with nausea and morning sickness.

“I felt like I needed to work out, it helped me with relieving stress,” Ormesher told news.com.au.

Ormesher began exercising at four and a half weeks post-partum, beginning slowly with walks and resistance band workouts at home, before going to the gym.

Now just eight weeks after giving birth Ormesher looks incredible, with the new mum managing to lose her baby weight in just eight days.

‘I DIDN’T REALLY PUT PRESSURE ON MYSELF’

No-one has been more surprised by her post-baby weight loss more than Ormesher.

“I wasn’t expecting to get back to my post baby weight for a long time,” she admitted.

“My mum really struggled after she had me. I was her first and she took a very long time, no matter what she did, she couldn’t lose the weight.

“I was expecting to be that way so I didn’t really put pressure on myself and I was just going to let it happen when it happened, but I did want to workout — not just for my body but for my mind again, so that’s the reason I worked out earlier.”

The reality star put on eight kilos during her pregnancy and in the final trimester weighed between 78kg and 79kg.

Ormesher now weighs just 69kg which is less than her pre-baby weight.

“I have lost a bit of muscle tone so I’ve gone a bit lower,” she said. “I want to go back up again, I don’t want to lose too much weight.”

The reality star, who works as a personal trainer, credits her fitness levels before getting pregnant and a clean diet with helping in her post-partum recovery.

“Usually in the morning I have my rolled oats or a green smoothie or fruit smoothie,” Ormesher said.

“For lunch I usually always have fish – I love fish – during my pregnancy I was having salmon all the time so I’d have salmon, sweet potato, brown rice and a few veggies.

“And then for dinner usually just some kind of meat like chicken or lean protein obviously some vegetables again.

“I didn’t really snack which I was quite lucky I wasn’t craving chocolate or anything for the whole pregnancy, so I was quite lucky with that as well.”

‘I HAD NO ENERGY’

Ormesher shares adorable Gracie-Mae with boyfriend Matt Thorne, with the pregnancy coming as a surprise for the couple.

Their baby’s entry into the world was a stressful one for the first-time parents, with complications with Gracie-Mae’s breathing seeing the newborn admitted into the neonatal intensive care unit.

Ormesher described the experience at the time on Instagram as “one of the most scariest times of my life”.

During her pregnancy Ormesher struggled with a lack of energy and motivation, which took a toll on her mental health.

“I struggled with it a lot, I had no energy throughout the pregnancy. I couldn’t work out or go to the gym, I’d just sit there,” she said.

“I was getting very anxious and my mental health throughout my whole pregnancy wasn’t great, I couldn’t be positive.

“I really struggled … it took a toll on me. I think that’s why now I’ve given birth I just do want to feel like myself again, that’s the whole reason of me eating clean throughout my whole pregnancy.”

Three days after giving birth Ormesher posted a selfie of herself in a maternity bra and underwear, sharing in the caption how she was loving being a mum but it was “definitely not easy”.

“My life right now … Forgot to put breast pads in on the way home from the hospital so here’s me leaking milk,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Cried over 20 times today already as I am feeling so overwhelmed with love for our baby girl and struggling with the recovery and my boobies hurt like a mother F**K**.

“I have never experienced pain like this in my life (Matt is on his way to buy some cabbage leaves as we speak).”

Ormesher’s candid selfie was praised by her followers, who commended her for sharing the “real side of motherhood”.

The reality star told news.com.au she decided to share the post after being concerned during pregnancy about what her post-partum experience would be like.

“I know that a lot of mums struggle with it, thinking they’re the only mums in that situation,” Ormesher said.

“I just wanted to share it to help other mums out there, because I just know it’s so hard the first few days.

“You’re in pain, you don’t feel like yourself. It’s the hardest time of my life those first few days.

“I just wanted to share the reality of giving birth and that it’s s**t,” she added with a laugh.
While exercise can help mothers recover after childbirth, Health Direct advise new mums to seek help from a medical professional before beginning.
