US cult burger giant Five Guys has landed in Melbourne.
Famous for its custom burgers and shakes, the fast food chain will open at Queensbridge Square in Southbank on Monday.
The launch follows the success of Five Guys’ two Sydney stores in Penrith and the CBD.
Australian brand manager Robby Andronikos said it took years to find the right location for its first Victorian venue.
“We have been well received in Sydney and hope to be equally embraced by the community here,” he said.
“We aim to have a strong Melbourne presence, with more sites slated to open next year”.
Five Guys’ point of difference lies in its 15 free burger toppings, which, if you do the math, works out to create 250,000 different burger combos.
Some classics include the bacon cheeseburger with relish, pickles, tomatoes, grilled jalapeños and hot sauce or the “all the way” cheese burger which layers pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mushrooms, grilled onions with ketchup and mustard on a bun of your choosing.
Don’t do bread? Don’t worry, Five Guys lets you go sans buns or sub in lettuce.
Five Guys was born in Washington DC in 1986 and has 1750 stores worldwide, including in China, Austria, Malaysia, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
