Weapons, drugs, ammunition and cash has been uncovered after police pulled over a car in Werribee.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said two men had been arrested after police intercepted a car on Thames Boulevard on Saturday, May 22 just after 5pm.

During a search of the car police allegedly found an amount of cannabis, GHB, knives, a homemade firearm, ammunition and cash.

A 29-year-old Werribee man was charged with trafficking drugs, possessing an unregistered handgun, possessing explosives, possessing cannabis, dealing property suspected proceeds of crime, possessing weapons, possessing cartridge ammunition, possessing a prohibited weapon without exemption, possessing signal without reasonable excuse, driving while disqualified and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on June 7.

A 23-year-old Harkness man is expected to be charged on summons with similar offences.

The arrests were part of Operation Tallinn, an anti-weapons operation run by Moonee Valley crime investigation unit detectives in Wyndham.
