A Melton South woman allegedly drove more than five times the limit over the long weekend.

Police said the woman was nabbed about 1pm on Monday going along Barries Rd.

Checks allegedly revealed her licence was cancelled and a breath test at a nearby police station returned a BAC of .270.

The woman’s car was impounded for 28 days at a cost of $1006 and she is expected to be charged with traffic offences.

A statewide road policing operation called Operation Regal ran up until 11.59pm on Monday.
