Among some of the hardest hit Victorians during the coronavirus pandemic have been small and medium-sized business owners.

Hospitality staff were among the first forced out of their jobs during the state’s first lockdown and many of Melbourne’s much loved pubs, bars and cafes have closed their doors for good.

To support Wyndham businesses we’re putting the spotlight on some of the best take out places in town.

All of these businesses have been nominated by Wyndham residents for Wyndham residents, so you can get the inside scoop on the west’s best eats and support local families. Enjoy.

The Italian Sports Club was founded in 1960 by a group of Italian immigrants who wanted an excuse to get together and play bocce — basically the Italian version of bowls.

Over the years the club grew to include tennis courts, a bar, dining room, and gaming area.

Today it’s serving up some of the best meals in Wyndham including schnitzels, parmas, pasta, baked Barramundi and open steak sandwiches.

And a big draw card is the massive play area for children and teens.

It’s open for lunch and dinner via Menulog and for pick-up during lockdown.

The menu is cakes, toasties and pies galore, but it also has nutritious and delicious home cooked meals and fresh sandwiches for pick-up and delivery via Uber Eats.
