If there’s anything good that’s come out of the pandemic, it’s rock-bottom interest rates.

Once the coronavirus crisis is over, there’ll be no better time to jump into Melbourne’s property market.

The city’s western suburbs are a favourite spot for young families and first home buyers looking to realise their aspirations of homeownership.

And with prices cheaper than many other parts of Melbourne, the Australian dream of having a house with a backyard is alive and well.

Jubilee in Wyndham Vale has it all — it’s nestled among 77ha of landscaped parks, wetlands and the natural beauty of the Werribee River.

Plans for the site include recreation centres, schools, childcare, shops, cafes and a town square.

But if that didn’t have you sold, Lotus Living, the site’s developer, has also thrown in an indoor water park to sweeten the deal.

House and land packages start from about $413,950 for a three bedroom, two bathroom home on a 287sq m block, while a four bedroom, two bathroom home on a 278q m block can be snapped up for about $456,900.

Those planning for a big family or who just like a bit of extra space can buy a five bedroom, two bathroom home on a 400sq m parcel of land for $565,400.

Here’s some more information about what they have on offer.

Indoor water slides, a children’s play area complete with water cannons, water spurts, squirts and ground sprays will make every day a party at Jubilee.

The development’s Club Jubilee water park is the first of its kind in an Australian masterplanned housing estate and is expected to be a hive of activity.

There’s also a gym and a 25m lap pool for the fitness freaks, and a large leisure pool to chill out in with the whole family.

TRANSPORT

Jubilee is a 35 minute train ride to Melbourne’s CBD and community public transport initiatives such as the on demand Wynbus service are making travel within Wyndham and between Melbourne’s western suburbs easier.

Wyndham Vale’s new regional rail link train station is just across the road from Jubilee.

And Jubilee’s prime location in the heart of Wyndham Vale means it has easy access to the Tullamarine and Avalon airports.

Wyndham Vale is home to Wyndham Vale Primary School, Iramoo Primary School and Wyndham Christian College.

Manor Lakes College P-12 School and Our Lady of the Southern Cross Primary School are also a short drive down Ballan Rd.

Jubilee has planning approval for a private on-site prep to Year 12 non-government school and a public prep to Grade 6 primary school.

CHILDCARE

Childcare options in Wyndham Vale include the Bliss Early Learning Centre, Adventurers Education, Birdys Family Day Care, and the Wyndham Vale YMCA Early Learning Centre — just to name a few.

An independently run childcare centre will also be built at Jubilee for preschool-aged children.

SPORT AND RECREATION

Jubilee’s 23ha of major sporting fields will have sport nuts feeling right at home.

Parks dotted across the estate will include children’s playgrounds, fitness stations, barbecues and shelters. And best of all, every house in each of Jubilee’s four neighbourhoods; The Mill Quarter, Scholars Green, Urban Square and Ridgetop Views, will be positioned within 400m of parkland.

Wyndham Vale Soccer Club, Wyndham Vale Falcons Football Club are located nearby, while Presidents Park is a popular spot for families. The Werribee River Trail is also a great shared track to explore on foot or by riding a bicycle.

SHOPPING

Jubilee Central, located at the heart of the estate, will include a 6.6 hectare town square with offices, restaurants, a supermarket and cafes. The nearby Wyndham Vale Square Shopping Centre has the basics covered with a Woolworths, BWS, a fish and chip shop, bakery and a butcher. While Manor Lakes Central, just a seven minute drive from Jubilee, has an even larger offering including a gym, Kmart, banks, clothing shops, dental surgery, more restaurants, supermarkets, a medical centre, beauty salons and a barber.
