A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a crash in Deer Park. Ballarat Rd remains closed to traffic following the incident.

A motorcyclist is fighting for life following a crash in Deer Park this morning.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it’s believed the motorcyclist was travelling east along Ballarat Rd when he collided with a car about 6.45am.

The rider sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The female driver of the car was not injured in the smash.

Major Collision Investigation unit detectives are en route to the scene.

Ballarat Rd remains closed in both directions between Westwood Drive and Station Rd.

St Peter Chanel Primary School has advised parents to delay taking their children to school as their carpark is closed due to the crash.

Anyone already en route to the school can enter the school grounds via Harrison St.

It is the latest of several serious collisions across the state in a matter of days, including a head-on collision in Pakenham yesterday which left a man dead.

In a separate incident, a scooter rider was flown to hospital in a critical condition yesterday following a suspected hit-run collision on Kooweerup Rd in Pakenham South.
