49-year-old Geelong man identified after fatal truck crash on Leakes, Derrimut Rd Tarneit

A Geelong man has been identified as the cyclist who was hit and killed by a truck in Melbourne’s west on Tuesday.

The cyclist who died at the scene of a truck crash in Melbourne’s west has been identified as a Geelong man.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Leakes and Derrimut Rd, Tarneit about 10.15am Tuesday.

The cyclist has been identified as a 49-year-old from the Geelong suburb of Breakwater.

The truck driver stopped at the scene and assisted police with their questions.

No charges had been laid as of Wednesday afternoon.

The exact circumstances of the collision are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
