A man and a woman are in hospital after a crash in the state’s southwest.

A 31-year-old Mortlake woman was driving in Wangoom when her car smashed through a fence and into a paddock.

Emergency services were called to the Wangoom Rd scene just before 6pm Wednesday.

The woman and her 34-year-old male passenger, also from Mortlake, were injured in the crash.

It’s understood emergency services were forced to use the jaws of life to rescue one of the two, who was trapped inside the car.

Both were taken to the Warrnambool Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with more information, dashcam vision or anyone that may have witnessed the collision are urged to contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000 or by submitting a confidential report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
