A popular new burger store has officially opened in the southwest, with burgers already flipping off the grills and into the hands of hungry customers.
Boss Burger Co, a small family business that’s been around for seven years, officially opened in Warrnambool’s Gateway Plaza shopping centre last week.
It is the latest store in a growing business that also has stores in Geelong West, Leopold, Waurn Ponds, Torquay, Lara and Ballarat.
Last October the business hinted that a new location was coming to the coastal town.
“Warrnambool has been somewhere we have wanted to hit for a long time — we’ve had a lot of regional stores mainly in Geelong and Ballarat,” Boss Burger Co part business owner Sorcha Evans said.
“We have have been scoping out Warrnambool for a while, we have had the food truck come down a few times to test the waters.”
Ms Evans said they had been looking to open up a franchise in Warrnambool for four to five years but “nothing felt like the right fit” until this location became available.
“The absolute support we got was overwhelming. Everyone down from the builders and the tradies that have helped, and everyone bringing even tea towels — they have all been on board to have us and made it really easy to come down so we’re finally glad to be here,” she said.
She said the team was “excited” to bring burgers to Warrnambool.
“We’ve had a lot of people drop past … and we have hired a whole new team of crew who are all locals. Everything is going great and we are keen to serve everybody.
