A man is lucky to be alive after smashing through three fences and crashing into the front of a Warrnambool home.
Paramedics were called to the incident on Wanstead St just after 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.
They treated the driver who had minor injuries before taking him to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition.
A police spokesperson said the 53-year-old driver’s vehicle left the road, mounted the footpath and drove through three fences before crashing into the corner of one house and then crashing into the brick pillar of the home next door, damaging the front porch.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews also responded and found the car had damaged water pipes.
FRV confirmed the driver was not trapped.
Firefighters assisted in making the scene safe before handing over to the building surveyor.
A family with four children were inside one of the affected homes and a woman was inside the other home at the time but no one was injured.
Piles of debris from the fences remained at the site on Thursday morning.
The car also remained as an engineer assessed the damage.
The vehicle is yet to be removed from the home.
It is unknown what the costs are to repair the damage at this stage.
