Winner and top five announced: We’ve found Vic’s naughtiest but nicest pooches

After a week of voting the results are in and Victoria’s cheekiest dog has been decided. See which pooch won and the others that came close.

Who is Victoria's cheekiest dog?

We called for Victoria’s cheekiest dog and Victorians responded.

Some devious dogs dug, others rode horses, stole eggs, ate undies and money and one even chowed down on a fridge (sadly that was a posthumous entry).

We knew Victoria would have its fair share of funny, naughty-but-nice hound stories but some of the tales we received were hard to believe, like the Labrador who helped robbers not only get into his house but hid with them when the cops arrived and then tried to go home with them.

1. Marshall has taken out the top position in our statewide search, captivating the audience with his cheeky ways.

The three-year-old goofball was born completely deaf, so his future wasn’t looking bright before Kelly and Brendan come along.

They adopted the fun and loving puppy and have never looked back.

“He gives us and our friends no end of entertainment and laughs with all of his stories,” Kelly said.

“He will happily sleep next to you all day, but if you leave the room you never know what you’ll come back and find him doing.”

She said just this week he broke into a box of hot chocolate sachets and shared them with his best friend Sadie, the Kelpie and left chocolate paw prints all over the house.

He’s also set his kitchen on fire, broken into his neighbour’s house, stolen eggs from the chicken coop, eaten $50 cash and is often found standing on the dining room table.

They’re proud Marshall has taken home the crown and hope he provided the rest of the state with a laugh.

“We love Marshall and it’s been super fun to share his stories with everyone,” Kelly said.

“We certainly think it’s his life purpose to entertain so it’s really fun to see him win a competition like this.”

2. Charlie Chook is our runner up!

This picture was taken by his neighbour after she’d dug a hole to get to her dad who was having a peaceful beer next door — but her loving owners wouldn’t have her any other way.

3.Tex came in third place with 31 votes. We think it’s his cheeky smile which makes his owners worried — thinking, ‘what has he been up to?’

4. Trevor recieved 31 votes for his unbelievably quick learning skills.

He’s a cute, albeit dopey Labrador who has been working on his manners and greeting visitors. His mum told us Trevor may have learnt a little too well because one night when some would-be burglars tried to get into his house, he made friends with them, hid with them when the cops were searching and even tried to go home with them!

5. Cyclone Rosie is a five-month-old English bull terrier who chews everything, so much so, she’s had multiple trips to the vet to have the items removed. When she’s hungry she’ll let her dad know by picking up her food bowl and throwing it at his feet.

Her antics saw her take out fifth position.
