Police are investigating the circumstances which left a woman in the fight for her life following a Pearcedale crash left her hospitalised.
The Pearcedale woman, believed to be in her 40s, remains in hospital in a critical condition with upper body injuries after she was involved in a serious car accident on North Rd on Thursday afternoon.
It is believed the woman was waiting to turn right from North Rd into Middle Rd when her car was allegedly struck from behind by another vehicle on North Rd.
The impact sent the woman’s car into another lane where it was struck on oncoming traffic.
Police confirmed on Saturday that their investigation was ongoing at this stage with an 18-year-old Mornington woman understood to be helping them with their inquiries earlier this week.
The 18-year-old woman and a Cranbourne man in his 30s, who was the driver of the oncoming car, were taken to hospital after the crash but both were in a stable condition with no obvious injuries.
Detectives from the major collision investigation unit want to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage.
Anyone with footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
