Three women will face court for allegedly assaulting police officers in Albury’s north.
Police were called to Boomerang Dr, Lavington on Thursday evening following reports of a brawl involving 20 people and a man armed with a knife.
Following inquiries, police attended a nearby home on Woomera Cres, where they arrested a 28-year-old woman.
But police say she allegedly tried to flee the scene as a group of women attacked the attending officers.
“Two women aged 23 and 24 were arrested at the scene, while additional officers were called in to disperse the crowd,” an NSW police spokesman said.
Three women were taken to Albury Police Station and were charged with assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty causing actual bodily harm, among other charges.
They appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Friday and were granted bail to appear in Albury Local Court later this month.
Police said all people involved in the brawl were known to each other.
The injured officers did not require medical treatment.
