He knows a lot about timing.
And Tom Hussey insists the time is right for him to return home to Tooradin after three fruitful seasons at MPCA powerhouse Langwarrin.
The 33-year-old sent a message to his Langwarrin club mates explaining his decision.
“It’s been a tough call mostly because I know I’m leaving a great club with great people,” he wrote.
“But I feel like the time is right for me to take what I’ve been able to learn from Langwarrin and apply it at my home club where I want to finish my cricket.”
Hussey scored over 1800 runs, and a truckload of dismissals as keeper, in three seasons at Langwarrin and played in several premierships.
He captained Langy’s Peacock Cup flag win in February.
Tooradin will regain a quality player and leader, boosting the Seagulls’ bid to challenge the likes of Cardinia and Koo Wee Rup for the West Gippsland top prize.
Hussey hit 11 centuries and almost 5000 runs for Tooradin during a run-filled eight season period before crossing to Langwarrin in 2018-19.
Langwarrin has now lost both Hussey and Jayde Herrick (retired) from its side of last season, but signed champion Baxter batsman Chris Brittain.
