Teens charged following alleged burglary and police pursuit

Two teens have been charged after they allegedly stole a car from a Mordialloc family with a six-day-old baby and led police on a wild pursuit across the south east.

Two teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly broke into a Mordialloc home and stole a car from a family with a newborn baby.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said the pair allegedly stole a Mercedes Benz from a property on Chute St where a family and their six-day old baby were sleeping about 4am on January 12.

A police air wing followed the car to Mulgrave where it was allegedly dumped.

The pair got into a second vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from a property in Noble Park.

The police chopper continued to track the car along the Monash Freeway to Endeavour Hills where it was again allegedly dumped on Troon Ct.

Two 18-year-old men from Cranbourne and Dandenong North were arrested and charged with theft of motor vehicle, handling stolen goods and possessing weapons.

They were bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on June 10.

Police said the investigation to identify two outstanding offenders was ongoing.
