BEER lovers are being given the chance to tap into a secret stash of rare and aged craft brews.
Red Hill Brewery will be serving the limited edition and vintage ales over a single weekend this month as part of its annual beer festival.
Brewer Jacob Rogers said the list of beers on offer was still being finalised but the menu was likely to include double barrel Imperial Stout, vintage Imperial Stout, Truffled scotch Ale and ales up to 10 years old.
“We put away a little of each brew we make and we’re currently taste testing those stores to decide what we’ll be serving at the festival,” Mr Roger said.
“Craft brewing has really only taken off in the past five years so most breweries wouldn’t have beers that are 10 years old.”
He said beer connoisseurs could experience a range of brews via a beer paddle or go straight for their favourite style and order it by the stein.
Limited edition steins — filled with beer — will be available for $28.
The Secret Stash Festival is on the weekend of July 21 and 22 from 11am-6pm both days.
Entry is free but steins must be pre-booked.
