Teachers may be seeing double at Parktone Primary this year, with four sets of twins among more than 80 new preps at the Parkdale school.
Twins Elle and Harvey, Archer and Willow, Kensi and Matthew, and Harrison and Ben joined their classmates for the first day of school on Monday.
Prep teacher Katrina Batty said it was an exciting day and students had settled in well.
She said the first weeks of prep were all about settling students into a routine.
“Prep is really about making sure they have a love for learning and they love being at school – that’s the main thing,” Ms Batty said.
“As long as they love being here, and feel like this is their second home almost, and they have people they can depend on here, that’s the most important thing.”

Ms Batty said she liked to think of herself as Miss Honey, the kind teacher from Roald Dahl’s book Matilda.
“I want to be that teacher that they always think back and remember – because I still remember my prep teacher from when I was a kid – so I’d love to be that teacher that they always look back and remember that they had such a good year with, that’s my main goal.”
Parktone Primary School has welcomed 84 preps this year, spread across four classes.
