Three youths have been arrested after a fire spread to Noble Park’s fire station and damaged a fire truck.

Emergency services responded to the incident in Buckley St on May 16 about 5pm.

Police believe the fire started when paper and discarded furniture on the street was set alight.

The fire then spread to the fire station and damaged a truck before it was extinguished.

A Country Fire Authority spokesman said the fire caused minor damage to the exterior of a storage facility at the back of the station, and minimal damage to the truck.

The spokesman said the truck was expected to be available for use again later on May 17, and there had been no impact on firefighters’ ability to respond to incidents.

Police arrested three male youths nearby, two 13 year olds and a 12-year-old.

One of the 13 year olds was charged with arson and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The other 13-year-old and the 12-year-old were released pending further inquiries.

Police are continuing investigations and any witnesses or anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
