Mordialloc: cause of an early morning house fire damaging the top floor of a family home still under investigation

A family had a frightening start to the day after they were forced to flee their Mordialloc townhouse after a fire started in the top floor.

A family was forced to flee a house fire in Melbourne’s southeast on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to a Mordialloc townhouse address just after 7.30am on February 7 following multiple calls to 000.

Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA crews arrived to find the entire top floor of Jack Holt Way property on fire

“Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control just after 8am,” an FRV spokesperson said.

“The family self-evacuated and will be relocated as the property sustained serious damage.”

Paramedics also attended the scene, however the occupants had no reported injuries.

Victoria Police also attended to assist fire crews.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
