Three teens have been arrested after using an allegedly stolen vehicle to ram a police car in Melbourne’s southeast.

The three alleged offenders attracted police attention at 1.30pm on February 1, following numerous reports of suspicious behaviour in a Bonbeach carpark

Attending officers were allegedly rammed by the offenders in a Mazda sedan, damaging both the police car and two other parked vehicles.

The driver and two passengers dumped the car, and fled in another allegedly stolen car, after which the Air Wing were called upon to assist.

Officers spotted a white Nissan Pulsar allegedly speeding down the Nepean Hwy in Carrum at around 3.50pm.

Allegedly travelling up to 150 km/h, the car wove in and out of traffic, and entered the Morning Peninsula Freeway at Chelsea heading inbound.

The Nissan was then seen allegedly travelling erratically on Warrigal Rd, before the driver allegedly lost control and crashed into a tree at Fairchild St in Heatherton.

Two males and a female were arrested at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver was taken to hospital following the accident, where he remains under police guard.

The passengers, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman from Bonbeach were also taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have since charged them.

The 15-year-old has been charged with two counts of alleged theft of a motor vehicle and allegedly committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He has been remanded and will appear before a children’s court.

The woman was also charged with two counts of alleged theft of a motor vehicle and allegedly committing an indictable offence while on bail.

She will appear before Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on February 2.

Investigators believe the alleged stolen cars were taken from two Frankston and Mount Eliza properties earlier in the week.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incidents, with dashcam footage or information to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
