John Paul College’s food van provides food for those in need

A selfless idea from a group of students, parents and teachers in Frankston has led to more than 7000 people getting the help they may otherwise would not have received.

John Paul College’s food van has been dubbed the ‘Community Companion’ for good reason.

An initiative of staff, parents and students, the van provides food for the needy.

College faith and mission director John Riddle said 7100 people had received help since the van started four years ago.

It operates on Tuesdays from 5pm to 7pm, but Mr Riddle said it would expand to Thursdays next year.
