The man accused of allegedly bashing a Richmond fan with a didgeridoo has had his case adjourned until later in the year.

Jesse Gardiner, 28, appeared in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, following his alleged attack on a 25-year-old man after the Dreamtime at the ‘G match between Richmond and Essendon in May 2022.

Gardiner, from Dandenong North, allegedly struck his victim, Daniel, with a didgeridoo at 10.40pm.

The matter had been adjourned until early December 2022, to enable Gardiner to find legal representation.

The court heard Gardiner had been in contact with lawyers through the Koori Court system.

His new lawyers were seeking an adjournment in order to allow their office to go through the brief.

The adjournment was granted, and Gardiner will reappear in court on February 21.

His bail was extended to that date.
