A man accused of allegedly bashing a footy fan with a didgeridoo after the Dreamtime at the ‘G will return to court next year.

Jesse Gardiner, 26, faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court following his alleged attack on a 25-year-old Essendon man at the Dreamtime at the ‘G game between Essendon and Richmond earlier this year.

It is alleged that Mr Gardiner, of Dandenong North, struck Richmond fan Daniel, 25, with a didgeridoo around 10.40pm after the game on May 21.

The case was adjourned to January 19 after the magistrate instructed Mr Gardiner to find legal representation before the return to court next year.

Mr Gardiner remains on bail and was instructed that he must appear at the case when it returns to Dandenong Magistrates’ Court.
