She also handled a stolen watch, advertising it for sale on Gumtree, and was found in possession of GHB and amphetamines.
Chelsea Bodger, of Pakenham, pleaded guilty to drug possession, thefts and handling stolen goods charges at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on September 11.
The court heard on November 8 last year she was found with a 27-year-old man in a bashed up car.
She was asleep in the driver’s seat, and the numberplates did not match the car, which had been stolen in August.
Police searched her and found GHB, which she said she had an “addiction” to.
On November 20 the owner of a $350 stolen watch noticed it was for sale on Gumtree.
Police got involved and tracked the advertised seller’s number back to Bodger.
In December they searched her home, but failed to find the stolen watch.
On May 22 this year they again raided her house, finding a container of GHB, two bags of amphetamines, someone’s else’s drivers licence and a stolen camera that had been taken in a Mt Waverley burglary.
She told police that she “had been using a lot of gear at the time”, and didn’t remember much of the offending.
These crimes also breached a previous community corrections order imposed on her for trafficking drugs.
Her defence lawyer said the now 20-year-old had started an apprenticeship at a salon, and was clean of drugs and attending Narcotics Anonymous regularly.
Magistrate Barry Schultz said given her age she should be “afforded every opportunity” to deal with her drug problems.
She was placed on a 12-month community corrections order involving 80 hours of unpaid work and had her driving licence suspended for three months.
Her previous corrections order, involving drug counselling, was also reimposed.
