ALLEGED coward-punch attacker Ryan Wells has again faced court Frankston in on assault charges, this time hiding his face from waiting media.

Mr Wells, who celebrated his 33rd birthday yesterday, appeared at Frankston Magistrates’ Court this morning for an update on how he is performing in a court-mandated support program.

The court heard he is “complying very well” and “addressing his issues” on CISP, a program designed to provide access to services and support to reduce rates of reoffending and promote safer communities.

The Frankston South concreter appeared with his lawyer James Dowsley for the short procedural hearing, but was not happy to be photographed outside court and shielded himself with paperwork.

Court documents show he is facing charges of intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, affray and assault.

He is alleged to have bashed an innocent man in a Frankston street on July 26 this year.

After the alleged attack Mr Wells’ brother Joel allegedly laughed, and the two siblings and their mate walked off.

The 43-year-old Frankston North victim spent two days in hospital recovering from his injuries.

There was a public outcry over the alleged vicious unprovoked assault before Mr Wells handed himself in to police.

He was subsequently bailed on July 30.

In court today Magistrate Ross Betts adjourned his case until October 30.

Mr Wells also faces another set of charges relating to an alleged attack less than a week before.

He has been charged with recklessly causing injury over an alleged assault on a 33-year-old man at a party in Somerville on July 20.
