Fed-up commuters have set up a toilet next to a Frankston bus stop to combat a serial bowel bandit who has been defecating at the same location for the past two years.

Spotted on Monday morning, the dunny comes complete with toilet paper for the poo bandit to make use of.

According to neighbours and commuters, the serial pooper has been dropping their faeces at the bus stop a few days a week for two years.

Someone has now set up a toilet at the bus stop near the leisure centre on Cranbourne Rd to try and alleviate the problem.

Paul Lynch, leader of a local Frankston group who call themselves “people against people shitting at bus stops”, said while the toilet installation wasn’t him he has been fighting for something to be done about the issue.

He said “all train stations have toilets so why not bus stops”.

Mr Lynch said he had “exhausted” all options, even writing to the Premier Daniel Andrews to try and have the problem resolved.

Mr Lynch said the installation of a proper toilet would be great, but even getting CCTV installed to catch the bandit would suffice.

When Mr Lynch contacted the Frankston council for help, they thanked him for bringing up the “strange behaviour” and admitted it had been happening at other council facilities too.

Police have encouraged Mr Lynch and his team to persist with trying to spot the offender in the act and putting pressure on council to install CCTV and provide more cleaning services.

Melbourne has seen its fair share of “poo joggers” over the years, with a woman being caught on camera in Brighton in 2021.

Another was caught on CCTV in Albert Park in 2021.
